Footnotes:

  • Tablets containing MgO may not be well digested by some, although rare. It will certainly help to take it along with food.
  • Most magnesium salts cross the blood-brain barrier anyway. The BBB (Blood-Brain Barrier) matters only if you're acutely deficient in Mg or dealing with a serious neurological issue. Else dont bother yourself with BBB w.r.t. Mg.
  • Literature suggests that of all the Mg suppliment options Magnesium Oxide is slightly difficult to absorb by the body. However We are talking about taking it with food. I don't buy this idea that I wont be able to prefectly absorb MgO when taken along with ghee, coconut-oil, animal-sourced-butter, Olive oil and some Sattu (fatty + carb items I take along with my morning 50+ capsules, of which Mg will be one.

    Member Question-1:
A member had asked which of the two below would be a better choice for Mg supplimentatio
    Carbamide Forte 7X Strength Magnesium
    Carbamide Forte Chelated Magnesium Glycinate

    Answer-1:
The better choice is first one: Carbamide Forte 7X Strength Magnesium Why?

    1. It delivers 49.5 mg of elemental Mg per rupee, compared to 45 mg per rupee for the other option.
    2. It's newer on the market (Date First Available: 20 August 2025) versus the second one's launch (30 June 2020).

The "7x" claim sounds impressive, but trust me—chosing it has nothing to do with the seven types of salts. Most magnesium salts cross the blood-brain barrier anyway. The BBB (Blood-Brain Barrier) matters only if you're acutely deficient in Mg or dealing with a serious neurological issue.

If you're already taking Mg regularly, don't worry about the BBB at all
